What Is MEN’S FIELD?
Men’s Field Lacrosse is played outdoors on a full-sized grass or turf field with ten players per side: three attackers, three midfielders, three defenders, and a goalie. The larger playing surface encourages wide-open play, long runs, and strategic movement, while specialized positions create clear roles within the offensive, defensive, and transition phases of the game.
Teams rely on a blend of set systems and creative playmaking, with long-range passing, controlled possessions, and full-field clears shaping much of the action. The use of long-pole defenders, designated faceoff specialists, and midfield lines adds further tactical depth to the men’s field game.
Field lacrosse showcases a blend of athleticism, endurance, and tactical teamwork, making it a defining part of Ontario’s lacrosse landscape and a flagship version of the sport.
