Sectors and Leagues

Sectors

Ontario Lacrosse is divided into four sectors: Box Lacrosse, Men’s Field Lacrosse, Women's Field Lacrosse and Sixes. Each sector features a different style of play with its own unique set of rules, catering to different age groups and skill levels. 

  • Is played during the summer months. The sector is divided into several leagues and divisions based on age and skill level, ranging from soft lacrosse (U5) to senior (21+). The game is played in an indoor arena and features physical contact, speed, agility, and skill making it a fast-paced and exciting sport to watch and play.

  • Is played during the spring outdoors on a field. The sector is divided into several leagues and divisions based on age and skill level, ranging from minor (U9) to senior (21+).

  • Is a non-contact sport primarily played in the spring and summer outdoors on a field. The league is divided into several divisions based on age and skill level, ranging from minor (U9) to senior (21+).

  • Is the Olympic version of lacrosse, played on a smaller field with fewer players, designed to be fast-paced and dynamic. This newer style emphasizes speed, transition, and agility, offering an exciting alternative for both players and spectators as the sport prepares to be featured in future Olympic Games.
