Supporting Introductory Programs Through the Nature Boy Partnership

ONTARIO LACROSSE AND NATURE BOY LACROSSE CONTINUE PARTNERSHIP

TORONTO, ON – December 21, 2023 – The Ontario Lacrosse Association (OLA) and Nature Boy Lacrosse are continuing their partnership to support clubs delivering introductory programming across the province.

Through this partnership, clubs offering Soft Lacrosse and 3-on-3 Mini Game programs have access to age-appropriate starter sticks designed specifically for players ages 3–6. The Nature Boy “Mini Shorty” stick is designed to help young athletes develop fundamental skills as they are introduced to the game in a fun and engaging environment.

These sticks are targeted to players in Soft Lacrosse (3 & 4 years) and Paperweight (5 & 6 years) participating in non-contact programming. For clubs, providing age-appropriate equipment at this stage supports player recruitment, development, and long-term retention.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to making lacrosse more accessible at the community level. By aligning equipment with entry-level programming, clubs are better positioned to introduce the game and create positive first experiences for new participants.

The Nature Boy “Mini Shorty” stick is designed for use with both Nature Boy and SwaxLax balls, supporting skill progression as players move from introductory training into game play.

Details on the Nature Boy “Mini Shorty” stick:

  • Delivered strung and assembled

  • Plastic molded white head with white mesh pocket

  • Shooting strings included (colours vary)

  • 26” white wood shaft (North American ash)

  • Plastic butt-end included
