Athlete PATHWAY

Athletes are introduced to Sixes Lacrosse through club programming, where the fast, continuous format supports strong overall skill development. Sixes begins at U9 and continues through U17 for boys and U19 for girls, giving athletes several years to build confidence, versatility, and game awareness in this high-tempo discipline.

Because all players contribute on both offense and defense, Sixes helps athletes strengthen core skills such as transition play, shooting, footwork, and decision-making. Many players participate in Sixes alongside box and field lacrosse, using the format to enhance their performance across all disciplines.

As the discipline continues to grow, athletes may also be identified for high-performance Sixes opportunities. These pathways can lead to representing Team Canada, the Haudenosaunee Nationals, or other national teams at world championships and the Olympic Games.
