BACKGROUND CHECKS
Screening Requirements
To support the safety and well-being of all participants, all certified bench personnel and officials who are 18 years of age or older must complete mandatory screening in accordance with the Ontario Lacrosse Association’s Screening Policy.
This includes coaches, trainers, managers, team staff, and officials.
Coaches, trainers, managers, and officials are trusted leaders in our sport. By completing your screening requirements, you help ensure that lacrosse remains a safe, supportive space for every athlete.
Every bench personnel member and official must submit one of the following each season. Your requirement depends on your screening history with the OLA.
-
Option 1
Criminal Record Check (CRC)
If this is your first time completing OLA screening OR you did not register with Ontario Lacrosse last season, you must submit a current Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector).
Ontario Lacrosse partners with Sterling Backcheck to provide a secure, convenient online process, with most results returned within 24 hours.
-
Option 2
Annual Offence Declaration
If you submitted a CRC last season AND maintained continuous membership with Ontario Lacrosse, you must complete the Offence Declaration Form instead of a new CRC.
This declaration confirms there have been no new charges or convictions since your last CRC or declaration and must be submitted to your club.
