Families joining men’s field lacrosse from hockey will find that most hockey equipment is suitable for box lacrosse, though rib/back pads are essential for added protection. While hockey gloves may be used at the entry level, lacrosse gloves are strongly recommended. Goalies wear additional specialized padding tailored to their position. Below is the list of required equipment for minor field lacrosse players:
