Ontario Lacrosse Welcomes St. Thomas Surge Minor Lacrosse

TORONTO, ON – February 23, 2026 – The Ontario Lacrosse Association (OLA) has approved St. Thomas Surge Minor Lacrosse Association as a new club member within Zone 7, beginning with the 2026 season. The approval was granted by the OLA Board of Directors following a review of the submitted application and consultation with Zone 7. The decision reflects the OLA’s continued commitment to supporting the responsible growth of community-based lacrosse programming across Ontario.

St. Thomas Surge will operate house league programming in the U5 Soft Lacrosse, U7, U9, and U11 age divisions for the 2026 season, expanding access to introductory and development-focused lacrosse opportunities within the St. Thomas community. The addition of the St. Thomas Surge strengthens grassroots participation in the region and supports the long-term sustainability of the sport at the local level.

To introduce families to the program, St. Thomas Surge will host a free Try Lacrosse session on Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at St. Joseph High School (100 Bill Martyn Pkwy, St Thomas, ON N5R 6A7). The session is open to new participants interested in learning more about the sport in a fun and welcoming environment.
