rules

Women’s Field Lacrosse in Ontario follows a standardized set of rules that promote safety, fairness, and consistency across all levels of play. The Ontario Lacrosse Association (OLA) manages rule development and implementation to support athletes, coaches, and officials as the sport continues to evolve.

The women’s game is designed as a non-contact discipline, supported by clear safety standards, age-appropriate checking rules, and certified officiating focused on player protection. Rules cover all aspects of play—from equipment requirements and field markings to draw procedures, fouls, penalties, and game flow.
