1 Eye Guards

Mandatory. Close-fitting eye guards must be worn by all field players. Eye guards must meet the safety certification requirements outlined in the World Lacrosse Women’s Field Lacrosse Rulebook.

2 Women‘s Field Lacrosse Stick

Most readily available women's field lacrosse sticks are legal for play in OWFL.

3 Lacrosse Gloves

Optional. Close fitting field gloves are permitted.

4 Footwear

Players may wear shoes with plastic, metal, leather or rubber cleats/studs. The exposed surface of all cleats/studs must be smooth.

/*GOALTENDER EQUIPMENT*/ 1 Helmet

All helmets must be CSA or NOCSAE approved. The helmet must have a chin strap which must be properly secured on both sides.

2 Facemask and Throat Protector

Cannot allow the head of the crosse or ball to contact the face. A throat protector attached to the helmet is mandatory. It must hang less than the diameter of a ball (approximately 6.5cm) from the helmet.

3 Chest Pad

Mandatory. A chest or body protector for the upper body must be worn, it should be made of impact-absorbing memory foam construction, offering flexibility and unrestricted movement. The maximum thickness is 3cm and all padding must be worn snuggly.

4 Arm Guards

Optional. These must be worn securely and must measure no more than 3cm in thickness.

5 Goalkeeper Gloves

Optional. Padded gloves must be tied securely at the cuff, must not have webbing and cannot increase the width of the goalkeepers hand beyond the thickness of the padding.

6 Padded Shorts

Optional. These must be worn securely and must measure no more than 3cm in thickness.

7 Leg Pads

Optional. These must be worn securely and must measure no more than 3cm in thickness.

8 Footwear

Women’s Field Player

Women’s Field Lacrosse players use equipment tailored to the sport’s skill-focused, non-contact style. The interactive player guide highlights required items such as the women’s field stick and appropriate field footwear.

Important: All players must wear SEI-certified protective eyewear and a properly fitted mouthguard.

Women’s Field Goalie

Goalkeepers in Women’s Field Lacrosse wear specialized protective gear that provides full coverage while supporting mobility in the crease. The interactive goalie guide outlines each required item, including the helmet, throat guard, chest protector, gloves, and leg padding.

A well-fitted mouthguard and athletic support are also mandatory.
